Our thoughts on the internship finally

Well we are back in Rexburg. We are happy to be back and into our new apartment. We are excited to be around family again. I still remember leaving Rexburg on January 2 not really knowing what we were getting ourselves into. The first night we got into our apartment in Connecticut, I remember thinking to myself "what are we doing here and why did we go so far away?" We had no idea what to expect. However, we are grateful we took this adventure. It was a great experience and the New Canaan ward is amazing. They made us feel so welcome and truly felt like "family". We met some wonderful people that were hard to leave behind but we are going to stay in contact with them. We also met some really cute and fun kids that would be fun to see as they get older. Even thought it was hard to be away from family and so far away from our "normal" lives, we learned a lot and were able to grow as individuals and as a couple.

Our Apartment

Okay so everyone wanted to see what our new apartment looks like. I still am in the process of cleaning everything up so it is a little messy but I decided just to put pictures up any way.

Our car on the way back to Rexburg

We took a picture just so people could see how packed our car was. There was lots of stuff under the pillow too. We brought out a laundry basket full of clothes for me but in order the bring the little tv back we bought out there, we had to take the clothes out and put them in the corners.

Alan's Internship

We heard that this is the building that you see in the tv show The Office after one of the characters in the show moves to the Stamford office. Alan worked at this building. It is located right on the harbor. The view in the show is taken from across the harbor but there was not a way for Alan to get over there to take the same picture so he just took one of the building and the harbor.

The new me

My hair was driving me crazy with how long it was, so I decided to get it cut. This is a picture right after I cut it. The hair dresser went way shorter then I what I had pictured in my head.
I liked the hair cut but I was not in love with it until I got over the shock of actually cutting like 6 inches off.
I will have to take another picture of how I actually style it. The hair dresser parted it way over to one side and over.

our little present

So Friday morning I walked out our door and noticed something hanging from the light. I got it off and then later on that day it was back again. So I took it off again and the next morning it was back again. We think a bird is trying to build a nest above the lights right out side our door.

This is how much I have taken off from Friday morning to Saturday afternoon.

Wild Turkeys

So Alan was getting ready for work today and he went to go get his snacks for the day ready. Well he then starting telling me to hurry and come out there. There was a wild turkey out side our window. Alan went to get a picture and found like 4 on the side of the house.
Never thought we would see a wild turkey.
